A dynamic visual identity system and print campaign for a secret society.
The Calydonian Boar Society needed a brand identity system in advance of its 2021-22 membership drive and events season. The challenge was to come up with a system that would emphasize the ancient mystery of the society while also making it appealing and accessible to new members.
For a society with such ancient roots, I knew I needed to get hands-on and do some analog experimentation with image and texture. Using tools like tracing paper, paint, ink, and water-soluble paper, I experimented with a variety of visual ideas. Then, I selected the typefaces, color palette, icons, and textures to use in the final brand.
The Society was looking for support on their printed brand materials, including postcards, a membership guide, a small hanging tag for one of their annual traditions, and a limited-edition screen-printed camp flag for their top contributing supporters.
