In the summer of 2023, AIGA Maine released a call for entries for their 2023 Design for Good Poster Show. Per the organizers: "Our show features posters designed by creatives across various [media] that each represent their unique perspectives on this year’s theme, Design for Good. This theme was selected to promote and emphasize ways in which designers can impact social, political, economic, and environmental change."

My poster Come Visit the Ocean!, which raises awareness of plastic pollution in the Pacific Ocean, was selected for inclusion in the gallery.

The Opening

On October 6th, 2023, I traveled to Portland, ME to attend the gallery opening. Part of Portland's First Friday Art Walk, a monthly arts event occuring throughout the downtown area, the event was well-attended with several hundred people exploring the gallery over the course of three hours.

As a volunteer photographer, I was proud to give back to the community by documenting the inspiring collection of work on display, as well as the event graphics and collateral designed by AIGA Maine.
